Lance Johnson: Superintendent

Mr. Lance Johnson is the new  Evant School District Superintendent. He began work in July 2009.

Danny Hemphill: Business Manager

Mr. Danny Hemphill is the Business Manager at Evant ISD. He began work here as the Secondary Principal in July 2006. His hometown is Hamilton, Texas, and he is a graduate of Texas A & M University. He earned his Master's Degree and his Public School Administrator's Certification from Sul Ross University.

James Slone: Principal

Mr. James Slone is the Principal of Evant ISD for all grades Pre-K through 12.   His hometown is Evant and he began work here as a teacher in 1995.  He graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelor's Degree and received his Master's Degree and his Public School Administrator's Certificate from Tarleton State University.

Michelle Buffe: Pre-K

Mrs. Buffe has been teaching for 6 years, 3 of those at Evant ISD.  
She graduated from Cherokee ISD and earned her Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in Early Childhood from Tarleton State University.
Her conference time is from 12:30pm to 1:15pm.

Doris Crawford: Kindergarten

Mrs. Crawford has been teaching Kindergarten in Evant for 28 years since earning her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood from Texas Christian University.  She is also certified to teach Special Education.
Her conference period is from 1 to 1:45pm.
Mrs. Crawford is married to Glenn Crawford who is a County Commissioner and local rancher.  They live in the country outside of Goldthwaite.  They have 3 daughters; Latricia, who is an Assistant Principal at another school district, Ranessa, who is an ER physician, and Glenda who is a registered dietician with NASA.

Sarah Koether: First Grade

Mrs. Koether is in her 4th year of education, all here at Evant, after earning her Bachelors of Science in Education from Tarleton State.
She teaches First Grade in our Elementary wing.
Her conference is from 1:00pm -1:45pm.

Mrs. Herbst has been teaching for 16years with 5 of those being here in Evant.
She teaches 3rd grade.

Loretta Adams: Fourth/Fifth/Sixth Grades

Mrs. Adams is in her second year at Evant and her 13th year of education.
She teaches 4th, 5th, and 6th grade reading, spelling, and social studies.

Beth Manning: Fourth/Fifth/Sixth Grades

Mrs. Manning  is in her 17th year of education and her 14th year here in Evant.
She teaches 4th, 5th, and 6th grade math.
Her conference is from 2:40-3:25 pm.
Mrs. Manning says that Evant is very special to he, since all  3 of her children who were educated here for grades K-12th.  She also states:  "Parents are vital to a student's education, so please feel free to contact me about your child."

Betsy Clark: Fourth/Fifth/Sixth Grades

Mrs. Clark has her Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University.
She is in her 11th year of education and her 3rd year at Evant.
She teaches 4th, 5th, and 6th grade's English Language Arts and Writing.
Conference: 1:20-1:50 pm.
Mrs. Clark grew up locally in Gatesville and is married to Mr. John Clark, an Evant Elk alumnus of 1978.  They have two sons, Cliff and Matthew, both of Evant classes of '01 and '02 respectively.

Stacey Parrish: Special Education Director

Mrs. Stacey Parrish is Evant ISD's Pre-K through 12th grade Special Education Coordinator.  
She is in her ninth year of teaching, all of which have been here in Evant.  She graduated from Jonesboro ISD and Tarleton State University with her Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Sports Studies.  
Her conference time is from 12:03-12:51 pm.
She annually coordinates our Food For Families fundraiser and the school's Walk for Diabetes in the spring.
She also says, "Evant is a great place to work!" and "I love all of my students!  I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them.

Coach McFarlin is in her first year of teaching and is very happy to be working here in her hometown.  
She teaches 4th, 5th, and 6th grade science and athletics.
Her conference is from 1:55-2:35pm.
She is the daughter of Mrs. Beth Manning, who also teaches here.  Her father Sterling runs Evant Feed and Fertilizer and is our Mayor.  attended grades K-12 here in Evant as a member of the class of 2002.  After that she went to college, graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Animal Science in December of 2006.  She was married to Cody McFarlin in July of this year.

High School and Junior High

Ronda Chumney: JH Math

Mrs. Chumney has been teaching for 10 years after earning her Masters Degree in Education from Tarleton State University.  This is her first year at Evant ISD.
She has previously taught 1st and 4th grade and now teaches Junior High math.
Mrs. Chumney is married with three daughters, and two sons-in-law.

Niki Russell: Spanish

Mrs. Russell has her Master's Degree and is in her 15th year of education and began in Evant as a sub before taking over teaching duties at the end of last year.
She teaches High School Spanish, PE, and Junior High Art.

James Hall: Science

Mr. Hall has taught for 28 years, including 6 years at Pottsville ISD, and 22 years in Evant.
He graduated from Texas A&M in 1976 after graduating Dripping Springs' High School in 1972.

Eric Herbelin: Social Studies, Athletics

Coach Herbelin is in his first year of teaching after earning his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Studies at Tarleton State University.
Coach Herbelin teaches 7th through 10th grade social studies.

Scotty Miller:  Athletic Director, Health, and Athletics

Coach Miller is in his 7th year as a teacher, his fourth year in Evant.  This is his first year as our Athletic Director.  He was here in Evant previously in the late 1990s.
He is our current Athletic Director, Head volleyball, Head girl's basketball, and Head track and field coach.
Coach Miller graduated from Goldthwaite High School in 1987, and the University of Texas in 1992 with his Bachelors in Science of Physical Education, specializing in  Social Studies (composite).
His conference is 9am.
He is married to Mrs. Jenise Miller, an Evant Alumni, and they have two sons Warren and Wesley Miller.

Ronda Eldridge:  Elementary Music and Band Director

Mrs. Eldridge comes to us from the Sierra foothills of California.  This is her first year at Evant ISD.  She teaches Pre-K through 2nd Grade music, 3rd grade recorders, 4-6th grade band, J.H. Band, HS Band, and Dual Credit Music History.
She earned her Bachelor's degree in Music from Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey, and her Master's Degree in Music from California State University in Sacramento.  She earned her Master's Degree specializing in flute performance.
Her conference is during 2nd period from 8:57-9:45am.
She has taught privately, publicly in the K-12 system, and at the college level or almost 20 years.  She has studied flute for over 30 years and has performed with many professional performing ensembles.   
Mrs. Eldridge and her husband Jeff have 6 children including a son in the Navy and a daughter who is completing her degree at the University of North Texas.

Coach Kuehler is in his 7th year of education and his 6th year at Evant since earning his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and Math at Angelo State.
He teaches algebra 1, math models, and athletics.

Mr. Nathan Gerard Kuehler grew up in Rhineland and went to school in Munday.  He has 4 older brothers Stephen, Kevin, Ryan , and Randy Mark.  His parents are Dayle and Gerard and he is a proud uncle of all of his brothers' great kids.

Linda Pickens:  Special Programs Coordinator

Mrs. Pickens is in her 18th year of education and her 8th year at Evant.
She teaches English IV and is our special programs coordinator.
Mrs. Pickens has a daughter and a son who have both graduated from Texas A&M who have given her two grandsons Will Brown, 4 and Gray Pickens, 1 & 1/2.  
She states that "Evant is a very special place and I tell my students that they could not be at a better place during this time in their lives.  The faculty, staff, and students here are truly a blessing to me."

Elizabeth Gandy:  Science

Mrs. Gandy is in her 6th year of education and her 3rd year at Evant.
She earned her Bachelors of Science Degree at the University of  Scranton after growing up in West Islip, New York.
Conference: 5th Period, 11:35am-12:23pm.
Mrs. Gandy is married to Allen Gandy, has 5 children, with the 4 school aged children all attending Evant.

Randy Newby:  Technology Applications, Yearbook

Mr. Newby is in his 9th year of education, and his first year at Evant.
He teaches Business Information and multimedia (BIMM), desktop publishing (DTP), yearbook, and TeleNet.
His conference is 4th period from 10:43-11:31am.
He is also a freshman class sponsor and our school's webmaster.

Ashlea Hall: Librarian

Mrs. Hall is in her first year as an employee for Evant ISD, but has been a substitute teacher, a volunteer at school functions and in many organizations since 1993.
She has two children who have graduated from Evant ISD has one more that is enrolled in 5th grade, and says "I love working in the Library!"
